Portland Velo Race Team
We feel the need...for speed. And thus the Portland Velo Race Team was born. In our 2007 inaugural season, the team exceeded expecations, from the standpoint of overall results - 57 podium placings, 20 victories, and 4 state titles - as well as the amazingly cohesive, organized and fun group of individuals that make up the team. In the 2008 season we are fifty-five riders strong, covering the majority of racing categories and disciplines. When we're not riding, we’re riffin' on racing in our race team forum.

Notes From Our Directeur Sportif

First Friday is coming!

When: Fri. October 3, 5:00-7:00pm

Where: Lucky Lab Beer Hall - 1945 NW Quimby

Why: Do you need to ask?

I’m excited to announce Portland Velo has teamed up with Upper Echelon Fitness, headed by Elite Level coach, Russell Cree.  Russell and his team, including local pro racer Evan Elken, have put together a unique monthly traininng program to get our team prepared for the upcoming season.  Check out Russell’s impressive bio, coaches, and list of services at http://www.upperechelonfitness.com .  2008 was a great year for Portland Velo and we are looking to take it up a notch with the guidance of Upper Echelon Fitness.

ALL PORTLAND VELO MEMBERS! We have renegotiated a sponsorship with VeloVie bicycles to include everyone in the club.  If you are planning to purchase a bike in the near future, let me know because I’m sure I can save you some money and get a great bike to boot.  In the next couple of weeks everyone in the club will have a promotional code to be able to access the special pricing. Portland Velo also inked a deal with DeFeet International.  Makers of socks, knee warmers, arm warmers, base layers, etc.  For those who are interested I will have pricing and ordering instructions available in the next couple of weeks.
