How hilly is the 42 mile route? Does anyone know? I might be interested in that route. The site says it is a pretty challenging route still.

    Donovan-

I have not ridden that route.  Only the 75 miler.

I'll plan to do the 75 mile. Pat wants to ride along, and she definitely prefers the 75 miler this year.

Can you give us an idea about what is expected of us?

I'll be doing at least the 75.

If I am feeling good at 50 - I'm in for 100, otherwise - time to cut it short.

     Still need a marshall?

     Hello Rob-

We are looking for the Ride Marshals to be the eyes and ears out on the course.  Assist with flats if mechanical folks are not available, report accidents to the central dispatch, help riders that might be having challenges during the course...give encouragement, a wheel to ride behind, etc...

It's more than just "Riding the Course."  We did this for the past 2 LIVESTRONG Challenge Events and last year's Harvest Century as well.

    Hopefully this helps.  Thanks Rob!

Sounds like good plan. Glad to do it. Do we check in, or meet up together for further instructions? In the past two years Pat and I have arrived early to be on the course by 7:00am. We could do that again.

    John-

If your still in need of marshals I can help out...I will be doing the 75 mile route.

I'm not planning to start as early as 7AM - I would prefer a start time at 8AM.

Donovan, The 42 is challenging, though there really aren't any long/hard/sustained climbs, more a constant series of rollers. The hardest climb is the one coming off the Canby Ferry, but about half the riders will wallk this. The rest of the course is totally do-able.

    Hi John,

Looks like you have enough folks for Ride Marshalls, however if you need anymore I am available.  I am doing the 75 mile route.

    Cheers,

    Ray
