    Membership Roster?

The new site is great, but I am unable to locate the old membership roster where I could get info to call or e-mail fellow members.  Has this been eliminated for privacy reasons?

    John,
You should be able to access & post in the Business Operations forum now. I am not sure what the plan is for making the list available on the members-only section of the website (which is still being worked on) but I'm sure Martin and/or Carlo can address this.

I was wondering the same thing. In fact, I intended to ask about it at the party tonight.

In the Forums, in the upper left is a Shortcuts box, with "View All Users".  You can search on users, or just type in "*" and hit search for a whole listing.  When you find the user you are looking for, you can clicky to send them an email.

Don't know if this is the solution, but it appears to be there for now.

    Re: Membership Roster?

The Forums 'View All Users" does not really work.

If you view all by not entering in anything they are not sorted by name and you can not do any sorting so it becomes a manual page by page search.

Using a persons first name does not work.  If you use an '*" after the name it does.  But not for myself (brent*), but this is because I do not use my name as my username.  The same is true for John Lucas.

Having the membership list back would be great.

    Re: Membership Roster?

The old roster had an alpha listing with email address and town which was useful. Now if a person has not added this information on this new site, they cannot be contacted. The current name search is problematic as it does not seem to search on actual First or Last name. The order to the names that are listed is confusing too. The old roster list is greatly missed.

Woot!  Check out under the "Members Only section!  Thanks to whoever got it up (I'm guessing Martin...)

Yes, thanks! The roster is now easier to get to. Now we just need to be able to search by actual names ;-)

Blame that one on Community Server.  Whenever I'm rummaging around for a member in the database, one who has sent me email from an email different from the one that they signed up for Portland Velo with, and their userid is something like GodsGiftToBicycles, it is harder than all get-out to find them!  We can only search on userid and email address.

    Re: Membership Roster?

Yep, that's a community server issue. The clowns that developed it thought it wasn't necessary to have any more user information than a user/login name and left First and Last name out of the core user tables. And this is a *** to customize. Thanks to Jay, we were able to rig first and last name into a separate table, but we have not yet figured out how to select user data based on this table. Bottom line, its also a ***.

That was me who put up the member list, btw... ;)

    Cheers!
