Lakeside Bicycles to offer clinic Tuesday, Jan. 26

Thanks to our sponsor LAKESIDE BICYCLES, Portland Velo has been invited to another in-store clinic.  The clinic will take place this coming Tuesday, January 26th @ 7pm at Lakeside Bicycles in Lake Oswego.

This seminar is geared towards recreation-oriented riders wanting to challenge themselves (maybe by riding a hilly century, or just a metric century) but are not sure how to accomplish those goals.     Attendees should leave with an idea of how to develop a training plan to reach cycling-related goals.  Basically, it will help teach people how to prepare for those kinds of rides.  This is a great opportunity for those looking to ride STP, Portland Century, Reach the Beach etc.  Handouts will be provided.

Kent Johnston, an Ex-European pro rider, the first American to compete in the World Cyclocross championships, Professional coach and Captain/Manager of the Fred Meyer/Lakeside Bicycles team is the presenter.

The seminar will last 1 hour with a 30 minute Q & A session afterwards.

All attendees are asked to bring a can of food for the Food Bank.

Great presentation last night. Kent covered the basics of developing a training program including goal setting, measuring progress and keeping to your plan. I definitely learned some new insights that I'll use going into the spring. Thanks again to Kent and Lakeside for hosting.
